About the Role
Ben Bellucci Academy is looking for an energetic, versatile, and reliable After-School Multi-Sport Instructor to lead our youth programs throughout Polk County. This role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about building foundational athletic skills and can confidently teach Basketball, Soccer, and Flag Football to elementary students (Grades K-5).
We are seeking someone who can transform local blacktops and fields into high-energy learning environments, helping students discover their potential through play, teamwork, and structured drills.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Sport Instruction: Lead age-appropriate drills and activities across three key sports: Basketball, Soccer, and Flag Football.
Fundamental Coaching: Teach essential skills such as ball handling, passing technique, footwork, and defensive positioning tailored to each sport.
Game Facilitation: Organize and referee small-sided scrimmages and skill challenges that emphasize fun and fair play over competition.
Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, using encouragement to build students' confidence and character.
Safety First: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized environment for all participants, ensuring school-specific safety protocols are met.
Equipment Care: Responsible for the setup, organization, and breakdown of all sports equipment (pompoms, flags, balls, cones) at each site.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in a coaching, teaching, or camp counselor capacity.
Solid understanding of the rules and fundamentals of Soccer, Basketball, and Flag Football.
Ability to maintain high energy and manage groups of 15–20 children.
Punctual, dependable, and possesses reliable transportation.
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
Must pass a comprehensive background check (Polk County Public Schools vendor requirements).
Schedule & Pay
Hours: After-school hours, typically 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Frequency: 1–5 days per week, depending on your availability and program needs.
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and sport specialization).
